Truex Jr., driver of the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota, joined NASCAR's top-tier Sprint Cup Series as a full time competitor in 2006 after winning back-to-back season titles in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.Truex has been one of NASCAR’s blue chip Cup drivers, qualifying for the post-season Chase playoffs four times (including 2016). He advanced to the final four championship round during the 2015 Chase.The 36-year-old driver holds multiple records including the closest 2nd place finish to the leader during the 2016 Daytona 500 and scored one of NASCAR’s most dominating victories in May 2016 when he led 392 of 400 laps and a record 588 miles in the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.A native of Mayetta, New Jersey and an avid Philadelphia sports fan, Truex grew up around stock car racing. His father, Martin Truex Sr., raced in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in the 1990s.Truex Jr. and his girlfriend Sherry Pollex created the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation in 2007. The Foundation is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for childhood and ovarian cancer.
